Behavior Assessment and Care for Dogs and Cats
Behavior Assessment for Pets
Acoaxet Veterinary Clinic is dedicated to helping pets and their owners live together comfortably and safely. Our veterinarians and staff are well qualified and experienced in addressing dog and cat behavior problems. We see cats and dogs of all ages for behavior problems ranging from housetraining and litter box problems and destructive or self-injurious activity, to aggression towards people or towards other animals.
An initial behavior consultation visit is usually longer than a regular appointment. We will discuss your pet’s home environment and the behavior problem with you during the consultation, and we will review your pet’s medical history so that we may identify all the possible contributing factors.
Once we have made a diagnosis, a treatment plan will be discussed with you. Management of behavior problems may include behavior modification, management techniques (such as modification of the home environment), and, if needed, medication. The safety of your pet and of everyone who interacts with them is emphasized. During the consultation, we will work with you on the behavior modification techniques recommended by the veterinarian and answer all of your questions. Follow up appointments and treatment options are scheduled as needed.
Please call us today if we can help you with any behavior issues you and your pet are experiencing.
